Yar’Adua: Why we struck in N/Delta

   


The Federal Government yesterday said the military action in the restive Niger Delta region was targeted at halting the persistent criminal activities.

The government however re-iterated that the window of opportunity to return to normal life provided for them through amnesty was still open.

The government also said in two weeks, it will come out with comprehensive policy on modalities and conditions under which the amnesty to the militants will be implemented.

30 inmates still missing in Enugu jail break

The authorities of Enugu Prisons have continued the manhunt for 30 inmates on the Awaiting Trial (AT) unit who escaped during Wednesday’s jail break.

Ibori’s trial suffers set-back

The trial of Chief James Ibori, former Delta State governor by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) yesterday suffered a set back at the Federal High Court, Asaba, following the absence of one of the accused persons, Miss Udoamaka Okoronkwo in court.
